[2023/09/29 16:20] Sonja Bikergrrl: Some figures wander over - you see them as particularly malicious looking goblins. They look at Leesha for a moment, then at Dahlia (and don't give Debben a second look). "That's the one" "you sure?" "I think so..." "Well get the lantern!"
[2023/09/29 16:22] Sonja Bikergrrl: The goblins surround Dahlia. "Right, hold the lantern steady, and open the shutter, shine it in the face." There's a moments' fumbling, and then a goblin is brightly lit. "AAaarg! Not mine, you fool! Her!" They quickly turn the lantern and look at Dahlia

[2023/09/29 16:26] Sonja Bikergrrl: The goblins don't answer, instead one of the meaner looking ones, who just got lit up by the lantern, comes closer to Dahlia. "Dahlia... listen carefully... do you have the book?"

[2023/09/29 16:29] Alicia Frakture: Dahlia? You mind explaining what's going on?
[2023/09/29 16:30] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (dinadrone): /me she wasnt sure which book they were speaking of but quietly hoped it wasnt the one special to her, "i do take care of each one.", stopped a moment and spoke, "I dont know, but i think it has something to do with a book Ive been carrying , but no idea why they would be asking about it"
[2023/09/29 16:31] Sonja Bikergrrl: The goblins all nod and there's a round of muttering. "Yes, yes" "Thats the book" "she has the book" and the one that seems to be in charge says, "It's very very important you take that book through the portal. Very important! You must do this, without delay."

[2023/09/29 16:33] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Where does this portal go? am i smelling lava or is that an afteraffect of your darts?"
[2023/09/29 16:34] Sonja Bikergrrl: They answer you both. "Yes, a portal, it's about half a mile west of here, in a field... you'll recognize it when you see it. You have to take the book through the portal. It's very important!"

[2023/09/29 16:36] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Yes! Yes! If you agree. But you must go, as you say."
[2023/09/29 16:36] Alicia Frakture: You drugged us, tied us up... to send us on a QUEST?!" Leeshas voice going from normal to a full snarl with those words
[2023/09/29 16:36] Sonja Bikergrrl: A goblin nudges another. "I said they'd be mad..." "Ssssh!"

[2023/09/29 16:38] Alicia Frakture: Granny first. If the necrophiliac was right she is in danger, and if something bad happens because of this!" She is glaring hard at the goblins."I'm gonna come back and put them in the ground like fence posts

[2023/09/29 16:41] Sonja Bikergrrl: There's a quick whispered conference, then general agreement. "Okay, a wagon and a horse."
[2023/09/29 16:43] Alicia Frakture: One of you have to take a message to someone near the town.
[2023/09/29 16:43] Sonja Bikergrrl: "A message...?"
[2023/09/29 16:44] Alicia Frakture: /me nods."I'll write it. one of you deliver it in case this takes longer than planned."
[2023/09/29 16:45] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Hmm. Okay. What message, to where?" They look round at their group, and pause on one. "You, you're fastest."
[2023/09/29 16:46] Alicia Frakture: There is an Orc woman on the edge of town, looks like an oder version of me. You'll deliver to her.... untie me so I can write it. I promise not to attack you."
[2023/09/29 16:47] Sonja Bikergrrl: The one in charge thinks for a minute, then nods at three of them. "You, you, you. Safe distance, blowguns ready."
[2023/09/29 16:48] Sonja Bikergrrl: The three selected move out in different directions, and the leading goblin cuts the ropes binding Leesha.
[2023/09/29 16:48] Alicia Frakture: Leesha looks through her stuff for paper and writing utensil
[2023/09/29 16:49] Sonja Bikergrrl: One of the goblins has a scroll and a quill. "What's the message?"
[2023/09/29 16:49] Alicia Frakture: Granny go to mom and dads. Necrophiliac says he's coming for my family before wanting to kill me and my friends. please be safe.

[2023/09/29 16:50] Sonja Bikergrrl: The goblin writes quickly, in a rather elaborate cursive script, then looks up. "That's the message?"
[2023/09/29 16:51] Alicia Frakture: /me nods."And rememebr if something has already happened..." She snarls a bit for effect.
[2023/09/29 16:52] Sonja Bikergrrl: The goblin doesn't respond. The leader says, "Get going. Run, don't delay." And off runs the goblin, leaving you with two... plus the three just out of sight in the darkness
[2023/09/29 16:53] Alicia Frakture: Leesha looks at the others."Mind if I untie my friends? I made a promise. No attacking."
[2023/09/29 16:53] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "what do we need to know about this portal?"
[2023/09/29 16:54] Sonja Bikergrrl: The goblin nods. "Take the book through the portal... it's really, really important..." and the two of them back away into the darkness with their three friends. "You'll see...."

[2023/09/29 17:11] Sonja Bikergrrl: you notice that the three rings of mushrooms are interlocking, with a common area where all three meet in the middle. there are RED fly agaric in one circle, GREEN cortinarius austrovenetus and BLUE indigo milk caps. There's clear areas where the rings intersect, and plenty of wild mushrooms growing all round...

[2023/09/29 18:02] Sonja Bikergrrl: As the last mushroom is placed the rings glow, and bright white light surrounds you. For a moment it's blinding - there's no apparant motion - but then the next moment you're in.... well, it's rather dank and dismal. If it's above ground it's a dark and rotten forest; there's a large stone and sitting on that stone, a robed figure, familiar from Dahlias' dreams earlier.

[2023/09/29 18:05] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "I would appreciate a modicum of detail before we simply hand over something clearly important to you for reasons no one has explained."
[2023/09/29 18:06] Sonja Bikergrrl: "I cannot explain without the book. This is the way things are, and there's nothing I can do about that. With the book, however, we can progress."

[2023/09/29 18:11] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "So you did hear that conversation," she smiles. "I did. I forsee us doing much traveling in the near future."
[2023/09/29 18:12] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Not half as much as you might be doing soon... but Dahlia, the book. You've guarded it well."

[2023/09/29 18:13] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (dinadrone): "this book found its way to my bag and i still do not know from where it came, this book got me and my travelling companions shot with needles and this book is the reason we are here now. It must be very important to you. Well if your going to get the wagon and anything else promised, here is the book", she hands it to him happy to be rid of it after all the trouble it caused
[2023/09/29 18:17] Sonja Bikergrrl: The robed figure - which is actually an even worse-looking goblin than the others - takes the book and has a quick look over it. Now, it seems, you can make out the title... it reads: "Grim Fairy Tales." The goblin takes a breath as they look the book over.
